Charles McLeod's store is listed in Hutchinson's Prince Edward Island directory for 1864.
Custodial history
Scope and content
The fonds consists of one account book covering the period 1863 to 1872 which contains accounts for several residents of Orwell Cove and the surrounding communities including a Reverend McAulay. Some of the residents were probably Selkirk settlers who arrived in the Belfast area from Scotland in 1803, or their descendents. Occupations of debtors are sometimes given including terms such a spar maker, joiner, shoemaker, miller, etc. Nicknames, such as "Red" Finlay Smith, are occasionally given. On the inside front cover three postcards are attached with glue.
