Charles McLeod (1824-1903), son of Murdoch and Flora (Murchison) McLeod operated a general store in Orwell cove, Lot 57, Prince Edward Island, until the 1870s, carrying groceries (including flour, tobacco, tea, molasses, butter, fish, oats, barley), paint, oil and window panes. The store served Orwell Cove and the surrounding communities including Green Marsh (Bellevue), Uigg, Kinloch Cove, Browns Creek, Sparrows Road, Point Prim and Surrey. Charles McLeod's store is listed in Hutchinson's Prince Edward Island directory for 1864.
