Searletown United Church
Biographical history
Searletown, with Bedeque and Cape Traverse formed the Bedeque circuit of the Methodist Church in Prince Edward Island. The Methdist Chapel at Searletown was erected prior to 1865. With church union in 1925 the Searletown Methodist Church became the Searletown United Church, part of the Bedeque pastoral charge of the United Church of Canada. In December 1939 the church land at Searleton was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Albany Trustee Board.

Scope and content
The fonds contains the minutes of the trustees and congregation of the Searletown Methodist United Church from 1899 to 1952 including a Chapel account book (pew rental book dated 1865. It also contains the minutes of the Women's Missionary Society from1888 to 1937 and the Society's treasurer's book from 1894 to 1916. There is a financial statement of the Bedeque circuit of the Methodist Church, 1921 and annual reports of the Bedeque Pastoral Charge of the United Church, 1934, 1936 and 1937.
