History

Searletown, with Bedeque and Cape Traverse formed the Bedeque circuit of the Methodist Church in Prince Edward Island. The Methdist Chapel at Searletown was erected prior to 1865. With church union in 1925 the Searletown Methodist Church became the Searletown United Church, part of the Bedeque pastoral charge of the United Church of Canada. In December 1939 the church land at Searleton was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Albany Trustee Board.
