The fonds consists of four diaries and miscellaneous personal papers of Col. Percy W. MacNevin. The diaries give a daily account of his activities from leaving Charlottetown on 26 November 1915 to embark from Halifax on the Lapland for England to 8 May 1919 the day before landing again in Canada. Early entries describe training and social activities at Roffey Camp, Horsham Siege School, Sussex and Lydd, Kent prior to embarkation for Le Havre on 29 May 1916. Entries during active duty in Northern France and Belgium, primarily in the areas of Arras, Cambrai, Ypres, and Valenciences describe camp movements and conditions, shelling and gas attacks, and the general devastation. He records the injuries and deaths of men in his company, making particular mention of those from Prince Edward Island. The Battery was in position in Mons when armistice was declared and the remainder of the diary describes the march through Belgium into Germany with the Army of Occupation and the billeting at Mehlein, near Cologne. The diary also contains descriptions of leaves in London, Scotland and Paris.

The fonds also includes correspondence from the Department of National Defence and the House of Commons as well as an invitation to attend the 1934 Cartier Celebration.
