Scope and content
The series consists of minutes of the First Baptist Church from 1836 to 1959. The earliest minutes appear to be reconstructed at a later date rather than recorded at the time. Minutes record annual business meetings which include reports of the various committees, changes in the pastorate, building renovations and repairs, decisions on church matters and also record other meetings generally for the purpose of baptizing, receiving, or dismission of members. Later minutes also include financial statements, a few newspaper clippings re. historical events and minutes of the meetings of the Board of Management.
