Présentation du contenu

The majority of the fonds consists of correspondence between MacRae family members. A significant portion of the fonds also contains many photographs, certificates, and newspaper clippings of Frederick's military career at the Machine Gun School in Shorncliffe, England, and his promotion to the rank of Major in the 82nd regiment. There are also genealogical notes and history of the Pownal area such as copies of the Pownal Argus, a handwritten community newsletter (1885) and Muster Rolls for the Queen's County Regiment R.M. for Pownal from 1868-1871. The fonds also consists of Alexander MacRae's account books listing the income and expenditures of his apple and potato crop from 1889-1892.
