This subseries consists of 12 certificates of payment for Crown Land issued by the Provincial Treasurer spanning the years 1860 and 1869, These items document the name of the proprietor the land was purchased from, a description of the property, the Act under which the land was purchased, the date, and the amount of the payment. The certificates are signed by the proprietor(s), or their attorneys on their behalf, as well as the Commissioner of Public Lands. The proprietors involved in the transactions include: James and Eleanor Montgomery; John P. Heywood, Benjamin Heywood and George Hughes Thompson; George F. Montgomery and William Montgomery; George E. Morton, Joseph Pope, William H. Pope, and Theophilus DesBrisay; George Townshend; the Selkirk Estate; Sir Edward Cunard and William Cunard; James Colledge Pope; Thomas Health Haviland; Sir Graham Graham Montgomery; Thomas Heath Haviland and George W. DeBlois; and David Hodgson.
