A successful business roundtable with Honourable Bruce A. Heyman, United States Ambassador to Canada, US Consul General Richard H. Riley and staff was held in Charlottetown, says Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning Allen Roach.

“The business roundtable was an invaluable opportunity for Prince Edward Island businesses and educational institutions to further strengthen relationships with the United States,” says Minister Roach. “It is important that we collaborate to expand our trade, tourism, investment and educational opportunities.”

Roundtable discussions included interest in the US market, current trends and opportunities to enhance trade between Prince Edward Island and the United States. CEOs, presidents and directors of 15 Island businesses across all sectors of the provincial economy, as well as educational institutions including UPEI, Holland College, Vector Aerospace, 3 Points Aviation, and Cavendish Farms were in attendance. The business roundtable was hosted by the Province of Prince Edward Island and the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce.

The United States is Canada’s leading trade partner and accounts for the majority of Island exports at $635 million.
