Additional road projects announced for construction season
Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal
Communities across the Island will benefit from road and bridge improvements that will be made during the coming construction season, says Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal Minister Robert Vessey.
When we make strategic investments in our transportation network it carries multiple benefits for Islanders, Minister Vessey said. It makes our roads safer and more efficient, creates jobs and builds our economy, and improves the quality of life in our local communities.
The second round of tenders for the 2014 construction season was released today. They are in addition to the 10 projects announced on January 30 and include:
Augustine Cove Replacement of the Augustine Cove Bridge;
Charlottetown Construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Route 1 and Upton Road;
Marshfield Realigning 730 metres at the intersection of routes 2 and 25;
New London Widening and resurfacing 2.3 kilometres of Route 6;
Peters Road Replacement of the Greek River Bridge;
Richmond/Northam Resurfacing 1.4 kilometres of Route 2;
Springton/Hartsville Resurfacing 5.0 kilometres of Route 225; and
York Resurfacing 2.2 kilometres of Route 25.
