Environment, Labour and Justice
“We all have an interest in living in safe communities and this conference helps by bringing together people who can share evidence, experiences and best practices from their crime prevention work,” said Minister Sherry.
The conference will profile promising practices, evidence-based programs, experiences, and lessons learned that relate to the theme of “Safer Communities, Better Tomorrow.” Conference workshops will focus on community safety, youth engagement, and front-line workers.
Conference participants are expected to include police officers, crime prevention professionals, educators and academic researchers, managers and policy advisors, health and social development professionals, and business and community leaders interested in crime prevention.
The 26th Atlantic Crime Prevention Conference takes place at Holland College’s Prince of Wales Campus (CAST building), June 5 to 7.
The local planning committee includes representatives of the Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI (MCPEI), Summerside Police Service, Community Legal Information Association of PEI (CLIA), and the PEI Department of Environment, Labour and Justice.
