Barn Fire, Albany

The Provincial Fire Marshal`s Office was requested to investigate a Barn Fire that occurred at 66 Old Trans Canada Highway in Albany owned by Mr. Gerard Noonan. The fire was reported to the Borden-Carleton Fire Department at 12:30 p.m. Sunday November 30, 2008. They responded along with the Kinkora and Crapaud Fire Departments, East Prince RCMP and Island EMS.

There were no injuries in the fire and no loss of livestock; family members got the livestock out of the barn before the fire progressed. The structure consisted of three buildings that were interconnected with all three recieving extensive damage. The Fire Marshal`s Office has ruled the fire to be accidental with the cause being related to repairs being done on a piece of equipment in the barn at the time of the fire.
