Nothing Says “I Love You Dad” Like Tickets to a Golf Event!

Tourism

Fathers Day is just around the corner and to help you out with ideas for Dad, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson ~ two of the biggest names to have ever played the game ~ are coming to Prince Edward Island to play in Making the Connections Legends of Golf at the Dundarave Golf Course at the Rodd Brudenell River Resort, June 19 and 20. Gift on Sunday, game on Monday and Tuesday, pretty much makes a perfect gift for Dad.

This new event will showcase many of the biggest golf names as well as the personal relationships between competitors that have made the rivalries so compelling over the years. It is the first of an annual event that will be held on Prince Edward Island through a partnership between Tourism PEI and IMG Canada.

In addition to the main event, Jason Zuback, a World Long Drive Champion, will host a “long-drive demonstration” on Monday prior to the start of the Pro Am. Mr. Zuback has earned international fame in the field of golf as the world’s longest driver of a golf ball, the only Canadian to have captured the title. As an example, Mr. Zuback drove a golf ball on the fly 430 yards, 10 inches at a competition in Mesquite Nevada which was entered into the Guinness World Book of Records. He also set a personal best ball speed at an astounding 222 mph in Japan.

David Feherty and the Island’s pride, Lorie Kane, will host the event and ensure that all the great stories are relived for those watching on-hand and worldwide. Added to the list of personalities on the course, Making the Connection celebrities spokespeople Pat Quinn, Sandra Post, Gaetan Boucher and Rod Black will promote the sponsor program “heart healthy” lifestyle messages.

“The event promises to be a remarkable couple of days with a wide variety of entertaining personalities and high-level skill,” said Honourable Philip Brown, Minister of Tourism. “There won’t be much down-time with all of the activities planned over the two-day event and I can’t think of a better Fathers Day gift. There’s still time to grab a ticket and a card and make your Dad’s day this Sunday.”

Tickets can be purchased onsite at the event, through TicketWeb online at ticketweb.com or by phone 1-888-222-6608. Further details available about the event can be found on the website www.legendsofgolfpei.com.
