Grab Your Bike and Hit the Trail! - Recreational Cycling Events Planned Throughout Upcoming Summer Season

Minister of Tourism, Philip Brown said, “Island Trails is doing a great job organizing events on the trail that promote it for the outstanding outdoor venue it is. As Islanders, we’re very fortunate to have a trail system that runs from one end of our province to the other, providing a safe location for all sorts of physical activities.” He added, “These cycling events are the perfect way to get to know the Island better and you get some fun physical fitness thrown in for good measure.” Details on this program are available on the Island Trails website at www.islandtrails.ca

Stewart to Cardigan; June 24, 10:00 a.m., Iona to Wood Islands; July 6, 6:00 p.m., Wood Islands to Murray River; July 16, 2:00 p.m., Montague to Georgetown; July 28, 6:00 p.m., Borden to Emerald; July 30, 1:00 p.m., Souris to Elmira; August 6, 1:30 p.m., Mt. Stewart/Morell to St. Peters; August 10, 6:00 p.m., York to Joe Ghiz Park; August 17, 6:00 p.m.,Hunter River to Emerald; August 24, 6:00 p.m., Summerside to Emerald; Sept 5, 6:00 p.m., Cardigan to Montague; Sept 9, 10:00 a.m., Tignish to Elmsdale; Sept 16, 10:00 a.m., Elmsdale to Portage; Sept 23, 10:00 a.m., Iona to Wood Islands; Sept 30, Harmony Junction to St. Peters.

Island Trails is the nonprofit, non-government organization which promotes trail development and trail care as well as host/coordinator of various trail events. The group is governed by a volunteer board with representation from across the province.
