The publication represents ratings and opinions culled from tens of thousands of evaluations from players of public access golf courses throughout North America, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Golf Digest readers rate the courses based on overall experience, services, value, and pace of play using a five-point scale. The overall experience scores are averaged and compiled to reflect the course’s relative strength at which time the course is assigned a star rating.

The provincial golf courses garnered the following ratings: Mill River - four star; Brudenell River - four star; Dundarave - four star; and, Crowbush Cove - four and one-half star. Other courses mentioned in the publication are Belvedere, Fox Meadow, Glasgow Hills, Green Gables, Stanhope and Summerside, with Fox Meadow and Glasgow Hills capturing a four-star rating as well.

With reference to the provincial courses, Brudenell, Dundarave and Mill River account for three of the forty-two ‘four-star courses’ in all of Canada; Prince Edward Island has six of the seventy noted ‘four-star and above courses’ in all of Canada; and, Crowbush Cove is one of only twenty-eight, ‘four-and-one-half star courses’ in all of Canada.

The Minister summarized with, “We ARE Canada’s number one golf destination and I congratulate the many hard-working staff of courses all across Prince Edward Island for the work they do.” He added, “It’s because of them that we continue to hold our key position as the number one golf destination and are recognized by those that play the game as THE place to play golf.”
