“National Memorial Day offers Canadians an opportunity to honour the dedication of police and peace officers who made the ultimate tragic sacrifice to keep our communities safe,” says Attorney General Mildred Dover. “This annual memorial offers peace officers from across Canada the opportunity to join together in honouring fallen comrades and celebrate the bravery and dedication of police and peace officers across the country.”

Representing the Community and Correctional Services Division of the Office of the Attorney General at the service are Warren Banks, Dwayne Stride, Mike Chaisson, Brendon Ellsworth and Tom Francis.

“The Office of the Attorney General is pleased to work in partnership with the Union of Public Sector Employees to send provincial representatives to Ottawa to honour their fallen comrades at the 28th Annual Canadian Police and Peace Officers Memorial Service,” says Attorney General Dover.

This is the eighth year that attendance at the Memorial Day Service is co-sponsored by the Union of Public Sector Employees (UPSE) and the Office of the Attorney General.
