Island-Wide Walks Planned to Promote Active Living in Conjunction with 55+ Summer Games
Health and Social Services
"Islanders of all ages can benefit from an active lifestyle that contributes to our overall health and well-being," said Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs, Elmer MacFadyen. "I would like to encourage all Islanders to take this opportunity to increase their own physical activity by participating in these organized walks with friends, family and neighbours."
"For many adults, walking is the physical activity of choice," said Jamie Ballem, Minister of Health and Social Services. "Walking is a great form of exercise for people of all ages. I commend the 55+ Games Society for encouraging this type of activity for Island seniors and wish them success with the upcoming summer games."
The 2003 55+ Summer Games are being hosted in West Prince and will include golf, 45's, horse shoes, cycling, tennis and crokinole.
