“Eight entrepreneurs from across the province were successful in securing seed capital investments in the first year of the Ignition program,” said Minister Roach. “ This money is intended to let these entrepreneurs develop their ideas into viable businesses.“

The deadline for Innovation PEI’s Ignition Fund is approaching. This is the second year for the competition which encourages local entrepreneurs to compete for up to $25,000 in startup funding to launch or expand their business. Application deadline for the current round of funding is June 1, 2015.

Applicants must be a startup business in Prince Edward Island or entrepreneurs committed to establishing and operating a new venture in this province. The products or services developed must have the potential to be sold outside of Prince Edward Island.
