Linkletter (Sett.) was adopted in Place names of PEI, 1025. Confirmed 2 August 1944 on 11L/5 at 46 24 - 63 51.Status changed to Locality in 1960 Gazetteer.Application altered 24 November 1966 on 11L/5 to 46 24 - 63 50.Status changed when Linkletter was incorporated as a Community in 1972. See PN. of PEI, 1925 for genealogy of George "Linkleighter".
