History

Elsa Kelsey, model for the famous New York "Gibson Girl," was married to Harry Warwick, actor, who was reputed to be a scion of the noble Warwick family of England. In the early years of the twentieth century Harry and Elsa were much involved in the theatre and travelled the world. Initially attracted to Prince Edward Island by the actor's colony at Abell's Cape, they bought a small cottage on the Fortune River and returned to it many summers over the ensuing years. After Harry's death, Elsa returned to the Island and took up year round occupancy of the cottage until her death in the 1950s.
