Historique
John Chadwick Stretch (1841-1924), son of Joseph Stretch (1812-1896) and Emma Ann Chadwick Stretch (1820-1873), emigrated from Liverpool, England, to Prince Edward Island in 1856. The Stretch family settled in Long Creek where Joseph took up farming. John took over the family farm after his father's death in 1896. John occasionally wrote poetry.
