History
Theophilus Stewart was born on 30 April 1798, the son of Charles Stewart, first Attorney General of Prince Edward Island and Mary Desbrisay. He was admitted to the bar of Prince Edward Island on 29 June 1826. He served for a time as Indian Commissioner for Prince Edward Isalnd, a position that was created in 1861. He died in Charlottetown on 7 February 1892.
