Historique
In 1946, the St. Peter's South Women's Institute joined with other Women's Institutes in the St. Peter's Bay, Prince Edward Island, area to form the St. Peter's Bay Women's Institute with Mrs. K. E. MacCallum as president. The members continued their work on behalf of the local schools and libraries. They also initiated such programs as the Safety Campaign geared at educating the community on farm, highway, fire, and water safety. As part of this program, the Institute was also instrumental in bringing ambulance service to the area and establishing baby sitting training courses for teenagers. The Institute ceased to function some time prior to 2000.
