History
The Searletown Hall Company was incorporated in Prince Edward Island by statute in 1891 (Cap XVI) to erect a "public hall or building for holding meetings therein for moral and useful purposes". In accordance with this mandate the hall was rented out through the years to various groups such as the Orange Lodge, the Sons of Temperance and the Independent Order of Foresters. In 1970 the Company wound down and the hall was sold, with the balance of the Company funds donated to the Women's Institute.
