Edith Rogers is a direct decendant of Benjamin Rogers, partner in Dodd & Rogers Hardware Store in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Thomas W. Dodd announced the partnership with Benjamin Rogers in 1859. A new three storey building was completed in 1867 at the corner of Queen and Grafton Streets. In 1904, the business was taken over by Benjamin Rogers and became known as the Rogers Hardware Company. The business remained in the family and operated until the 1990's.
