History
For the purposes of holding annual conventions, the Womens Institute of Prince Edward Island created geographical regions each including a number of individual community institutes. Convention area # 1 of the PEI Womens Institute was comprised of the following West Prince communities: Alberton, Alma, Brooklyn, Dock, Elmsdale, Elmsdale West, Fortune Cove, Mill River, Montrose, Rosedale, South Kildare, and St. Lawrence. In 1991 the decision was made to combine with district 2 for annual conventions.
