This material was located in the attic of the building on Great George Street which was originally the Customs House and presumably the office of the Agent of the Department of Marine and Fisheries. At the time of transfer the building was occupied by the Probation Services Division of the Prince Edward Island Government.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of correspondence to the Prince Edward Island Agent of the Department of Marine and Fisheries, Artemas Lord. These include letters from A. B. Warburton concerning a Commission for life -saving, from various lighthouse keepers and inspectors concerning supplies, equpment, building and repair of lighthouses, from the office manager and other Agents, and miscellaneous correspondence concerning invoices, orders, vessels, in particular the Brant", schedules, pay and appointments. The fonds also includes two letters to George F. C. Lowden, flour merchant of Charlottetown, 1860-1862, and a draft will of George Beer.
