Rev. James Rupert (J.R.) O'Neill was born ca. 1901, the son of John O'Neill and Bridget E. Curran of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. He received his early education at Queens Square School and St. Dunstan's University prior to attending Grand Seminary in Quebec. He was ordained at the St. Dunstan's Basilica in Charlottetown. Rev. O'Neill was practicing in Alberta at the time of his death.
