The Millview Women's Institute was organized on 7 November 1929 at the home of Mrs. George McEachern. For seventy years the Institute has been involved in the life of the community of Millview, with emphasis, particularly in the early years, in the support of the local school and students. The Institute also contributed time and donations to other charitable causes such as the Sanatorium and the Red Cross. In addition, the Institute has been active in collecting in researching the history of the community and produced the book "Millview now and then: a community portrait".
