History

The Loyal Orange Lodge, an institution for brotherhood support was created in 1690. The Dalmeny Lodge was one of several branches of the Loyal Orange Lodge formed on Prince Edward Island following Boyne L.O.L. No. 614, the first Orange Lodge organized in 1855 and the R.W. Grand Orange Lodge organized in 1861 at Charlottetown. Its members have played an active part in the religious, political, and community life of the Island. The Orange Order organized the first Protestant Children's Home in the province in 1922.
