Mr. Charles Arthur Farquharson, a son of Donald Farquharson (later Premier of Prince Edward Island), was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island in 1880. He was one of the bridge construction engineers during the building of the Hillsborough Bridge in 1901-1903. He was married to Miriam Norton of Charlottetown. In 1908, along with a brother-in-law, Fred Blake, Farquharson moved to High River, Alberta to operate a hardware business.
