This subseries consists of 18 file folders of correspondence to the office of the County Clerk of Kings County. The first file contains correspondence written to George A. Aitken between 1877 and 1917. The remaining files covering the period 1934-1941 are arranged alphabetically by the name of the individual or company writing to the clerk. These files may also include some deputy prothonatary correspondence. The clerks during this latter time period include John J. MacDonald, John C. MacDonald, and Alex MacDonald. The correspondence includes: letters from lawyers, plaintiffs, and other interested parties; requests for writs , etc., to be issued; notes about monies collected or to be collected; and lists of notes in hand.
