The mandate of the Confederation Centre Film Society, as stated in its constitution dated the 8 March 1965, is "to encourage interest in the film as an art and a medium of information and education by means of exhibitions of films of a cultural and artistic quality, as well as to promote the study and appreciation of films by means of lectures and discussions." The society is run by seven directors, who are elected for a one year term by members of the society at the annual general meeting.
