History

Theophilus Chappell [178-] was the son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Chappell. He was married to Dorothy Boyer, a loyalist from Rhode Island, USA, on 9 March 1807 at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, by the Reverend T. Desbrisay. They had ten children. Theophilus Chappell was employed by John Cambridge in Murray Harbour from 1799 to 1823. He also worked as a Surveyor of Lumber, Justice of the Peace, and was involved with the Independent Temperance Society of Prince Edward Island. He died in Charlottetown on 29 December 1847.
