Biographical history
The Island of Bermuda has two ports, the capital, Hamilton, and St. George's. Customs records were kept for both ports of incoming and outgoing vessels from 1780 onwards.
Custodial history
Scope and content
The fonds consists of manifests of PEI registered vessels entering or leaving the ports of St. George's or Hamilton in Bermuda, 1817-1819 and 1863-1865. Entries give particulars re. the specifications, registration, and owners of the vessel as well as a list of her cargo. Most of the departure and destination points for these vessels are other islands in the West Indies. One vessel is listed as arriving from Prince Edward Island in 1819.
