Scope and content
This series contains 14 reel-to-reels and 51 audio cassette tapes of sound effects, performances, and interviews with local Islanders from the Belfast area. It appears the taped interviews were borrowed and copied from the Belfast Historical Society's oral history project (which began in 1977 and culminated with the publication of Belfast People: An Oral History of Belfast, Prince Edward Island in 1992) and were used by Theatre PEI in preparation for their 1987-1988 production Belfast People. The Venerables' Mary Ross is one of the interviewers and was project coordinator of the Belfast oral history project. There are also 37 video cassette tapes of ICT/Theatre PEI performances.
