Seated left to right: Jean Gill, Nora Bateson and Dr. G. R. Lomer. A month-long Library Institute was held at Prince of Wales College in July 1933 led by the McGill University Library School and the P.E.I. Department of Education. Thirty-eight students attended sessions on library administration, reference work, book selection, bibliography, children's libraries, and cataloguing. Evening public lectures were also offered on the background of books. The Library Institute instructors were Dr. G. R. Lomer, Col. Wilfred Bovey and Mary Duncan Carter of McGill University Library School.
