Confederation Centre Public Library is a branch of the P.E.I. Provincial Library Service, a division of the provincial Department of Community and Cultural Affairs. The province provides the library staff and funds the library collections. The city of Charlottetown provides annual funding to assist the children's department. The library is also supported by The Friends of the Library and The Trustees of the Legislative and Public Library. The Trustees, founded in 1905, recently assisted in refurbishing the library. With an experienced staff of 15 full time and 5 part time, Confederation Centre Public Library serves Islanders 7 days a week. The library also administers the Government Services Library located on Kent Street which provides public access to federal and provincial government documents.
