PARO Acc. 2874/3
Keppoch Beach Hotel, Keppoch, 1885

Pictured are Mrs. and Mr. William Welsh and Alex Pitcairn on the steps of this circa 1840 residence built by James and Andrew Duncan called Keppoch Farm House. The property was purchased in 1854 by Dr. Henry Hillcoat, a Queen's County Justice of the Peace who sold it to Charles Welsh in 1858 and was maintained by the Welsh family until 1922. W.H.V. Dunbar and others operated the home as the Keppoch Beach Hotel until 1965. It lay vacant for close to 10 years when it was purchased and moved to the east side of Keppoch Road and restored as a private residence.
