"… The severe snow storm of the past week left in its wake a large snowfall to a depth of six inches on the level, and two to three feet in the cuts. Mr. Sandy Reynolds who made the trip to Souris Monday reported the Dundas Centre was completely blocked necessitating driving through the fields…" – Guardian, 10 December 1947, p. 8
