The Harris Memorial Library hosted the city's major art gallery and library until the opening of the Confederation Centre in 1964.

Original Charlottetown Camera Club 1967 description:
“Harris Memorial Library, which housed the public library below and the Robert Harris paintings above. This building was dear to the heart of the Charlottetown Camera Club, for the first meeting was held in 1951.”
