Peter Schurman, son of Loyalist William Schurman |
|
Original Charlottetown Camera Club 1967 description:
“Many Island families date back to the arrival of Loyalist settlers in 1783, who came after the American Revolution. Because of persecution of those loyal to the Crown, these people left their homes, their businesses and their wealth to seek home in Canada. William Schurman was one of these, who after many dangers on the way, settled at Tryon, where he became a prosperous merchant.” | Next>>> | Previous<<< |
