Murray Harbour Railway, ca. 1910

After high demand, and many years of waiting, a branch of the PEIR was built to connect the communities from Belfast to Murray Harbour to the Island’s railway system. The line was started in 1900 and completed by 1905. This aerial view of the Murray Harbour Railway Station depicts several individuals standing on a train engine while another stands on the tracks nearby. The town of Murray Harbour is visible in the background.
