Shaw letter, 1964
Letter of introduction from Premier Walter Shaw, 1964

"It is apparent, from the material in our possession, that a rich record of our Island history is now available. But it must be properly arranged, indexed, and shelved before it can be utilized... the result, in terms of enriched knowledge of our Island history, merits consideration of the appointment of a full-time archivist and records manager." (Report of the Legislative Library and the Public Archives, 1966)
