During her four visits, the Queen took in a wide variety of Island activities. In 1951 she toured the Dominion Experimental Station and watched a hockey game at the Charlottetown Forum. In 1959, she had tea with the Prowses on their farm near Brackley; this average Island family had won a Rural Beautification award for the work they had done on their property. She also toured the Sherwood frozen food plant, had lunch at Dalvay by the Sea, and saw a record-breaking heat of harness racing at the race track grounds. In 1973, she attended an Ecumenical church service in Victoria Park; Prince Philip read the Lesson. Later, she dined on lobster in Montague, toured the Acadian Village at Mt. Carmel, and took in a craft display at Riverview Manor.
