P.E. Island Railway Schedule, 1877 (Alberton Pioneer)
 
Over the life of the railway there were many schedule changes. Although the train was slow, its speed in relation to the number of stations at which it stopped was good. In 1877 there were three trains each way every day between Charlottetown and Summerside - including the steamboat express which linked with the steamers to Pointe du Chene and made the trip between the Island's largest communities in three hours.
