Souris Harbour

The first public wharf built in Souris was built at Souris East in 1849 which developed into Railway Wharf. There was some debate as to where the Town of Souris would be established - Souris East or West. Merchant John Knight''s involvement in the development of a wharf and breakwaters to protect it in the 1830s, were key factors in the current location of Souris. The town was incorporated in 1910.
